Our Purpose. . .

Human Trafficking occurs on a daily basis all around the world. A group of 3 CSIHS senior students are creating this blog to help raise awareness about Human Trafficking in Cambodia and other Southeast Asian nations. We ask for your help to raise awareness on this horrifying event that occurs everyday. Inform your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors about this informational blog site and please give feedback on our posts. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

  1. I learned about human trafficking in school too. We had representatives come who worked in this field, and i think this site is a great idea in creating awareness (:

  2. I wasn't able to view the video????

However, I did read the article and watch the news, so I am familiar with trafficking and the exploitation of basic human civil rights.

I was thinking of how admirable it is that you have researched such a difficult topic. I am proud of you. It must stir up a lot of emotions learning of how cruel humanity can be.

As a teacher, the message I try to instill in my students is compassion for others. They have a mind and an opinion that matters. They can make things happen even at their age. It begins with education. That we have a certain responsibility as human beings, either moral or ethnic responsible -- not to sit idle and stay silent.

But how do you get our voices to be heard? You've done it. You have inspired me.

I try to make this difference as a teacher everyday. I am also a mother of two daughters. One summer I couldn't believe my daughter's project was to research the horrors of what is going on in Darfur. As I began to help my daughter with her summer homework project, I really became intrigued with the numerous people from our country trying to make a difference. Courage was the only world that came to mind.

Trafficking is going on right here within our borders, too. Yes, it could be your grandmother, your mother, your daughter. As a mom, I think about my own daughters and the men in our community and where they work, and on the internet that prey on young girls. I try to teach my daughters to never go anywhere alone or with anyone you don't know. Always stay as a group.

I watched a TV show the other day that involved two young American girls going oversea to a different country and being targeted as they got off the plane by a friendly young man. They would share a cab together. The man knew where they were staying because the cab drop them right at the door. The one girl lied about her parents about were they were staying that her parents were going to be there with them. They were on vacation. They stated the facts that statistically, "They had 48 hours to find the girls, or they probably would never be heard of again." It makes me afraid to let my daughters ever go out of the country alone, or even go on Spring Break!

My message is I applaud your hard work and the brave students who let their voice be heard for so many that cannot speak. They valued and explored difficult issues raise our awareness.

I see changes happen through writing your local and state government offices and holding peaceful rallies. Keep trying to raise public awareness like this blog.

    Keep educating us.

I would like to share one more thing to young women, be careful and trust know one you don't know. Always let someone know where you are and always stay with a friend. Be careful with the photos you share with your friends. You may be the next President one day. Don't be afraid to let your words show who you are. You are one of the lucky ones because you have the opportunity to become anything you want to be!
